PC Dead

S! all,
I'm on the laptop, The PC is dead. I was having problems with windowsxp so I decided to reinstall it. Easiest way has always been to get a new HD install it and then once the Op system and all was loaded I could transfer all my personal files to it or leave them on old HD.
Well, It wasn't seeing that new HD was 500GB, I called microsoft to see if they had any ideas. Well the last Idea they gave me was to remove the jumper from the HD, In doing this I hmust have cracked the motherboard or something because now when I power up the PC I get a high pitched never ending beep, nothing comes up on the screen and the only way to turn it off is by unpluging it.
Looks like I'll be getting a new PC, hopefully in the not too distant future.
I'll be back someday, but I can still visit here with the lap top.
