Objection... Neither of those are Western Front planes. P-63 flew on the russian front and P-38L late flew in the pacific. Neither flew in Normandy.

While the campaigns are intended to have historical significance, they are not strictly historical . The P-38 was flown in Normandy, IIRC, but it was the "J" model. For some reason the DCG does not seem to recognize the P-38J, so the "L" model is used instead. As for the P-63, it was excluded for the very reason that you have given. A "L" model P-38 vs a "J" model P-38 is not that distant from actual history, but the P-63 would stand out like a sore thumb in this campaign.
