Registered for FS battles.

Signed up for their forum.. still awaiting confirmation on that one.

Didn't specifically sign up for any side cause it's sorta catywompas over there.
No direction for a new guy to know what to do so I did things sorta nilly-wllly and even backwards I suppose?

Dunno.

Still haven't downloaded anything than the AAA installer which I installed first at the behest of J30 OttO/Voudoux.
After that it's been juggling versions of the game to enter this/that server, and after that it's all patches patches patches yes?

Which means I should indeed keep seperate installs for easy use yes?? But how would that translate to Hyperlobby??
How much of a headache would that be?

I dunnio. Most of ya'll beem flyin this years more than I been. Heck this is just my third week haha.

For most intent and purposes you only need to do this....

install the game and patch it up to 4.08
install the AAA unified 1.1 installer and the 1.1.1. patch
install the FS mod pack
install hyperlobby

using the switcher included with the AAA pack you switch to the version of game you want
(can be done while in hyperlobby window once you see what the host is using)

using the switches included with FS pack switch them on or off as needed

that should be it. (sry it's early) lol

Unless you go nutso on other mods then you'll have more and more stuff to make sure is on or off as needed .

hope this helps

Reinhart, it all depends on how many mods you want to install. I have 2 instals, but that is only so that if something goes wrong I have another one at the ready.

The thing with many mods is it may become difficult to enter a fairly standard game like Forgotten Skies, because internal security will check mods and then keep your mods list is exactly what they require. For that reason, I have no mods that are not regulated by the AAA installer or the FS switcher other than just a very few that I keep track of diligently like the carrier launch mod. What you might want to do is to make a shortcut to the Program Files/Ubisoft/il-2:1946/MODS folder and keep that on your desktop for easy access. Then you can add the hyphen in front of any extra mods you have that should not be on at a particular time, and are not dealt with by a switcher such as the AAA, which deactivates them manually.

Glad to hear that Vudoux still flying. We were hoping so, but have not seen or heard from him in several weeks now. Would love to see him around here more often, but understand if he has real-life or schedule issues to deal with.

S! Guys.

Thanks a bunch for flying in the opens lately cause otherwise with patches and passwords and signups and junk I wouldn't be able to rofl.

But HEY! Today I had my second best day in a non-full switch server, where I wasn't bombing the whole time or the majority of the time.
Trouble followed me into the server when I still had a goose-egg, and I eventually came in second in points. The old man was third :P
That one mid-level run in the B-29 where I bombed some factories and got three kills but got shot down was fun, but it didn't get me too many points.

Ended up with like 670 which was just a hair over half of Korn's score.

Got another dude in a B17 but died, and also got a guy with a P47 and lived, and then I got someone else with a P38. All very exciting but Jabo is where I'm still most useful IMO.
Strafing, vulching, bombing, dive-bombing, etc. Lately I've been level bombing from F8/chase view cause I find it more accurate at times than the norden rofl.

Anyways, good flying with Korn, Troubles, Red, Raz, Tiger, errr.. Grube even though he was on the other side..

Edit: Oh yea, at the time this all started 2nd Pursuit, the squad I've signed up for, looked like they were doing some private training so I didn't intrude as I'm not official yet.
Cabbage, Space, Yoke, and some others were on but I stayed with Trouble and company.

Not a problem joining in Reinhart. We were doing training for our next FS mission, but the training we were doing is valuable for all pilots. Heck, we even let BigFred fly with us! ;)

Nothing like a crazy night of seeing how close I can get to another aircraft.. and then the hilariousness on teamspeak with Raz, Kanone, and Hoshi just after I jumped into Tiger's office, meowed at him and went 'here kitty kitty' and then went back to the other channel very quickly hahahahaha.

And one seriously long 15 minute dogfight with my crappy Corsair against a zero. That was some good fighting.. and it ended in a draw(mid-air collision haha)

I was in peices and had to stop flying at one point cause I couldn't stop laughing and was out of breath.
