Award of the Bronze Star, =AVG=Derring

On 24 June 2011, during the Ghost Skies Slovenia campaign, =AVG= Derring, while separated from his flight, engaged and destroyed an enemy ace known for his prowess as an aviator. With willful disregard of other enemy Aircraft in his vicinity, =AVG=Derring pressed home his attack and destroyed his opponent. After returning home safely, =AVG= Derring then flew an additional sortie in which he destroyed an enemy AAA element.
Major Derring is hereby awarded the the Bronze Star for bravery in the face of a determined enemy.
